Pénjamo, Guanajuato

Hacienda Corralejo

The historic estate where Miguel Hidalgo, father of Mexican independence, was born in 1753, and where our partner brands are made today.

01

Estate-grown agave

Corralejo tequilas are made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown and hand-harvested on the Hacienda's own fields in the Bajío, Guanajuato. Some plants are nurtured for as long as eight years before harvest.

02

Stone ovens and the Charentais still

The agave is cooked slowly in stone clay ovens and double distilled with the 400-year-old Charentais method, perfected by the French for Cognac, which keeps exceptional aroma and flavor.

03

The cellars

Tequila rests in American, French Limousin and Mexican oak, from four months for the reposado to three years for the extra añejo, and is bottled in-house at the Hacienda.

04

A house of history

The special releases 1753, 1810 and 1821 trace Mexico's path to independence: Hidalgo's birth, the Grito de Dolores and the birth of the republic.
